• Hinged gate for the garages in our time is already an archaic solution, while the wings are usually heavy and non-insulated. Due to the size it is cumbersome when opening and closing. It is also necessary to take extra protection from uncontrolled closure eg due to gusts of wind. Using hinged gate makes it necessary to park a car in front of gate with significant distance at least equal to the width of the wing which makes planning and building a larger driveway. Where the design dictates the use of the building facade hinged door, Beditom can design sectional door that is stylized as hinged door.
• Swing door needs less space to work than hinged gate, but unfortunately it still needs a large space. Swing doors are usually non-insulated and not too tight. It is difficult to use these doors in our climatic conditions especially in winter when even the minimum amount of snow causes pitfalls of trying to open it. Construction of swing doors forces the use of extension springs which by nature are weaker and difficult to adjust properly. This causes problems with balancing door curtain, and may even be dangerous.
• In comparison with other doors, Beditom sectional doors do not need any space to work. Curtain of the door moves in the light of the opening practically vertically. Beditom sectionals doors are well designed and manufactured to the highest standards. Since they are perfectly balanced the opening and closing requires very small force. Torsion springs used exclusively in all our doors balance weight of the door much better than the other solutions where the tension springs are used. Using a torsion springs that are attached to a shaft can easily balance the curtain on the door, so that throughout its movement up and down, the door be easily stop in any position and it will not fell or rose by itself. This is important if you equip our gate in the electric drive – proper movement of door curtain has an impact on the load and hence the durability and refinement of the entire mechanism of the gate. Torsion springs are usually installed in pairs so a failure of any of them does not cause the same problems as the breakage of extension springs and its rapid fall. It happens that the bursting of extension springs not only prevents the opening of the door but such a failure could have unpleasant consequences such as damage to your car or injury to a person present in the footprint of falling gate. Torsion springs are significantly more durable than extension springs. Thanks to the use of advanced mechanism of torsion springs Beditom’s gates are always quiet and well balanced and do not require much force to open or closed, regardless of its size.

Much depends on the proposed building facade. On the technical side there are no obstacles to install Beditom sectional door large enough for entry to the parallel of 2 cars (even highway trucks). It is more cost effective to use one double size doors than two single doors.

The heat transfer coefficient is definitely better of polyurethane foam (used in the gates Beditom). CFC-free polyurethane foam material is much more technologically advanced.

For us, this is not a problem; we can install various types of windows in doors purchased at Beditom. We have the documentation for each gate manufactured by us and therefore we are able to determine what technical changes will require that their work remained impeccable. It can happen that will require replacement torsion springs due to the fact that after cutting out panels and installing windows, the door weight changes so that it will be outside the scope of regulations or possible alteration of the existing springs.

Beditom garage doors are coated with high quality paint and can be painted just like any painted steel surfaces subject to the same rules. Please keep in mind that before the door will be painted again it shall be properly prepared including thorough cleaning and tarnishing the surface, removing minor scratches and applying the paint manufacturer's recommendations. We recommend spray painting done by someone appropriately trained in this technique. In the case of surfaces covered with vinyl coatings (wood, wood grain structure, etc), you shall only use paints appropriate to this type of coatings.

For standalone single garages and most cars garage door width 2500 mm will be fine. For double garages where the car stand side by side, we recommend the gates with a width of 4800-5000 mm, depending on the nature and projected size of your car. In the case when you have a SUV or minivan we recommend height of the door will be at least 2250 mm while for a regular passenger car height of the opening is 2125 mm is sufficient. For the delivery trucks the height of the door shall be 2500mm.

So far, the standard door height was 2.125 m dimension, it completely sufficient for all standard sedans and station wagons. If you are planning to soon buy a roadster, a minivan or SUV, it is better in any case decide on the height of the gate, or even 2.250 2.375 m.

We offer several solutions to install garage doors. The standard overhead that is required is 30 cm. In this case torsion springs are mounted in the space above the door and there are no problems with any additional equipment including door operator. Where necessary it is possible to install garage doors where space above the door is limited to 10 cm. In this case we use special system of tracks. Also note that there are no obstacles (such as a beam ceiling, sewage pipe) from the ceiling that they would interfere with the door or impede the attachment of the tracks. Remember the location of windows and doors in the side walls of the garage. They may interfere with the proper mount and horizontal tracks. You need to know the location of concealed wires and they should not take place in the points of attachment of tracks or mechanisms of the gate.
